Practice like a PGA Pro…no, not Tiger Woods. Me…Brandon Evans…a local PGA Pro with a fun job which occupies 8-12 hours of energy per day, 2 kids and a beautiful wife at home who I love spending time with, an affinity for landscaping, and too little time to practice golf.
Day #4 – One Leg Chipping
Focus: Chipping – Mental
Description: Set-up 5-10 feet from the edge of the chipping green and select a target hole approximately 20 – 30 feet onto the green. Chip golf balls with your right foot (for right handed players) raised and behind you so 95% of your weight rests on your forward leg. The purpose of this drill is to encourage a decending angle of approach into the golf ball and stablize your lower body while chipping. Hit as many golf balls as necessary to hole 2 chip shots. This will create ‘pressure’ in your practice session to mimic playing conditions…meaning, on the course, your focus should be on making chip shot, not merely getting them on the green.
Objective: Hit shots until you make 2.
Time: Took me about 40 shots and about 12 minutes to accomplish the task.
